Tympanometry

A Tympanogram is performed by applying air pressure through an ear piece to the test subject’s ear drum. The purpose of a Tympanogram is to assess the state of the middle ear (the cavity behind the ear drum). A Tympanogram can assist in detecting middle ear fluid, problems with middle ear pressure, and the integrity of the ear drum.

This test may be performed on its own or may be performed as part of a comprehensive hearing evaluation.
