Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) Testing

An Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) Test is a test that assesses the ability of the hearing nerve to transmit signals to the brainstem and ultimately the brain. A person who has a significant difference in hearing between ears may be a candidate for this test, to rule out any major problem with the hearing nerve, such as benign tumors, etc.

An ABR is performed by one of our audiologists who will place noninvasive monitors on various spots of the head, which will then track the nerve activity that occurs when a sound is presented to the ear.
